Brian Mandeville | Welcome

I am a PhD candidate in Economics at George Mason University (expected May 2027), where I am also a PhD Fellow at the Mercatus Center and an Adam Smith Fellow. I teach as a Graduate Lecturer at George Mason University and as an Adjunct Lecturer at Catholic University of America.
My research examines the interaction between norms, beliefs, and formal political institutions; the application of Public Choice theory to the nonprofit realm; and the importance of virtue and citizenship writ broadly.
I have found very little to be more rewarding than interacting with my students and helping them understand the benefits of social cooperation that arise as a result of markets and the division of labor.
